Wang Xizhi (303-361 CE) is widely regarded as one of the greatest calligraphers in Chinese history, honored as the “Sage of Calligraphy” for his profound influence on Chinese art and culture. His most famous work, the Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection, is considered the pinnacle of Chinese calligraphy. One beloved story, depicted in the painting “Wang Xizhi Witing on a Fan”, tells of an elderly woman struggling to sell her bamboo.
